Separating couples usually need to resolve a wide variety of issues. Wherever possible, we prefer to settle a client’s case through a separation and property settlement agreement. These agreements, once properly executed by both parties, are binding legal contracts that set forth each party’s rights and responsibilities in plain terms. Contested court battles over such matters as alimony, post-separation support, custody of children or property division can be avoided in a discrete and efficient process that is far less expensive than court action.

Sometimes, however, contested court action is inevitable. In these cases, Davis & Humbert, P.A., has years of experience in fighting for our clients’ rights in cases where litigation is necessary. We handle all types of family law cases through District Court in Alamance County, Orange County, Caswell County and Chatham County. While our law offices are located in Mebane, our dedication to those we serve has brought us in contact with clients from all over the Triad and Triangle regions.

Our firm also represents clients in adoption and guardianship proceedings, and we prepare premarital and postmarital agreements. Our firm also has extensive experience in representing clients in 50B (domestic violence) cases.
